Summary

The Maintenance Team Lead will manage maintenance operations in a state-of-the-art baking facility, focusing on optimizing equipment efficiency, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO), supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). This role also includes leading and mentoring a team of 12–15 maintenance technicians and collaborating with other departments to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Work :

Coordinate with OEM contractors and Millwright contractors for specialized weekend maintenance and equipment servicing.

Value-Added Work :

Fundamental Mechanical Knowledge : Strong understanding of gears, bearings, shafts, belts, and pneumatic systems.

Predictive Maintenance : Proficient in lubrication, vibration analysis, and identifying wear indicators in mechanical components.

Preventive Maintenance : Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics : Skilled in diagnosing mechanical issues in pumps, compressors, motors, and rotating equipment using tools like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Repair & Replacement : Experience in disassembling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems, including alignment of shafts.

Electrical Expertise :

Basic Electrical Knowledge : Understanding of AC / DC motors, motor control circuits, and power distribution systems, with knowledge of NEC and IEC standards.

Electrical Troubleshooting : Diagnose and repair electrical issues using multimeters, megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes; repair faults in starters, relays, breakers, transformers, and control equipment.

Preventive Electrical Maintenance : Use predictive tools like thermal imaging and insulation testing to identify and prevent electrical failures.

Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) : Skilled in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting VFDs for motor control.

PLC Programming : Basic understanding of PLC ladder logic, inputs vs. outputs, and familiarity with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.

Robotics Knowledge :

Basic Robotic Systems : Understanding of industrial robotic arms, motion control, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) with familiarity in FANUC, KUKA, ABB, and Universal Robots.

Education & Experience :

Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.

Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements :

Majority of work will be on the plant floor, with some office duties.

Continental 12-hour shifts, including weekends.

Physical requirements include regular lifting (up to 10lbs frequently, up to 25lbs often, and up to 50lbs occasionally).

Exposure to potential hazards like compressed air lines, grinding, cutting, welding equipment, as well as heat, cold, confined spaces, noise, grease, oil, and dust.
