ABOUT THE POSITION: The Hand Edger Take-Away primary responsibility is to remove waste pieces as they exit the Hand Edger. Must be willing to work in fast paced environment as you remove waste pieces while also maximizing yield and keep the flow to the Green Chain going steady.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for paperwork and record keeping
- Responsible for measuring wood
- Responsible to help change saws
- Keep up with the flow from the hand edger while still maximizing yield
- Misc duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to be cross trained on multiple positions within the Sawmill
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Must have good mechanical skills
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be safety conscious
- Must be dependable
SKILLS/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to use good judgement
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Must be a team player
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
