Pridelines is a rapidly growing non-profit, 501c3, organization dedicated to supporting, educating and empowering South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) youth and the community at large in safe and diverse environments through affirming programs and services, to promote dialogue, wellness and to foster social change.
Position Overview:
The Center Operations Coordinator (Front Desk Associate) is responsible for the safe, secure, and healthy operation of the community center and its programs. When on duty, the Center Operations Coordinator is one of the first points of contact for community members seeking to participate in Pridelines’ programs and services. The person in this position is responsible for interfacing with various stakeholders and creating a constructive service environment that is conducive to human development. The incumbent should possess a background in mental health counseling and/or have had experience working at a community based organization and knows how to work in a face-paced diverse environment.
Responsibilities: Primary roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Center Coordination:
- Responsible for ensuring the safe, secure and healthy operation of the community center.
- Opens and Closes the Center as scheduled and/or instructed by Management.
- Manages the front desk area, including the door, the phone, and the David Bohnett CyberCenter
- Welcome guests upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure that guests, clients, and visitors are complying with Center rules and regulations
- Manages the sign-in of all visitors – including volunteers/interns
- Ensures that the Center atmosphere is welcoming, healthy, safe, and constructive at all times
- Informs Center users about Pridelines’ programs and requirements/guidelines for participation
- De-escalates potential issues and/or conflicts when and should they arise.
- Supports conflict resolution.
- Manages the maintenance of the Center in the following way:
- Keep the Center clean, organized, and stocked of necessary items
- Monitor use of the David Bohnett CyberCenter and ensure equipment is not mishandled/misused
- Monitor the use of the Pridelines Clothing Closet
- Report and address Center repair, IT, pest control, and other operations issues in a timely manner and contacting the necessary vendors
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the parking lot and garden areas
- Reporting & Data Management:
- Ensure all visitors sign-in and this information is entered into Pridelines’ Clients Services Database
- Create/complete various reports related to tasks and accomplishments, as well as Center programs and activities on a monthly basis.
- Calendar Management and Special Events Coordination:
- Oversees the Calendar for the Liberty City location
- Responsible for scheduling all center programs, activities, and special events including booking, space setup, and fee collection when applicable
- Ensure that groups wishing to rent the space for events complete the appropriate documents and comply with terms of space rental agreement document
- Serve as the liaison between Pridelines and renter on the day of the event
- Supports Pridelines Health with checking in clients for the clinic, providing clients with prescriptions, and/or scheduling clients for testing and/or appointments with the health providers.
- Become a HIV/STI certified tester.
Volunteer Relations/Coordination:
- Ensure timely follow up (within 48 hours) of volunteer inquiries
- Recruit and train volunteers in accordance with Pridelines’ policies and procedures
- Manage volunteer relationships including screening, orientation, and evaluation
- Schedule volunteers, including group facilitators, to fill community center and program needs as required
- Match volunteers with appropriate departments
- Supervise volunteers and provide technical assistance on given tasks
- In the absence of appropriate volunteers to perform certain duties, the Center Operations Coordinator is responsible for finding an appropriate substitute or completing the task themselves
- Maintain accurate information in volunteer database
Team-Building:
The Center Operations Coordinator will actively and regularly participate in Pridelines’ team-building activities, including supervisory meetings, program meetings, and/or staff meetings, as scheduled. All team members may be asked to assist with outreach efforts.

Physical Activity Requirements:
This position requires frequent computer use and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, ability to work on nights and on weekends. Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with great oral and written communication skills.
- High level of organization skills and the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
- Certified in HIV testing, counseling, and linkage or receive certification within 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass level 2 background screening.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience in social work, mental health counseling, and/or another helping profession.
- Experience with and understanding of non-profit, mission-based advocacy (a clear knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues is a definite plus).
