ACM Fabricator

PrideStaff is seeing a skilled and experienced Machine Operator for an Architectural Fabricator position for a leading manufacturing facility in Matthews, NC. The ideal candidate will have trim work experience in construction since a large part of the role will require figuring out different degrees of cuts. Location: Matthews, NC 28105
Pay: $20-$21/hr.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains a clean and well-organized work area at all times.
• Responsible for safety checks on all equipment and work area prior to set up.
• Responsible for daily equipment set-up in the department.
• Analyzes cut sheets, prints, and work orders. 
• Cleans panels and organizes per elevation/color.
• Inspects panels for correct sizing, scratches, dents or other imperfections prior to cleaning and after assembly. 
• Checks panel design when print numbers (quantity) don’t add up correctly or are numbered wrong.
• Assembles panels per print instructions by bending and installing extrusions.
• Shears strips and kick-plates.
• Pulls clips, loose angles/extrusion, and other hardware per elevation.
• Forms, caulks and routes special panels such as edge route panels and field cut panels.
• Packs/organizes panels per elevation/color in corresponding boxes.
• Keeps a record of daily hours per job/elevation.
• Cuts extrusion per elevation/color.
• Coordinates activities with the loading department.
• Troubleshoots with CAD and/or router operator when problems or concerns arise.
• Performs lead duties in the absence of the supervisor.  
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
• Must have the ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret all work orders and blueprints for fabrication
• Forklift certification required.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must have adequate balance and ability to climb, bend, stoop, and squat.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
