Logistics Representative

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Communicate and coordinate with freight vendors and Customer Service with the goal of securing capacity.
• Negotiate and review rates with carriers to preserve favorable status for Employer and keep costs down where possible
• Handle and resolve all verbal and written correspondence timely, professionally and with a respectful, caring and responsive attitude. This includes phone calls, emails, memos, letters, spreadsheets, BOLs, etc.
• Inspect and analyze shipment documents and correspondence for accuracy and follow up needed
• Record details of all shipment transactions, inquiries, comments, complaints and actions taken
• Communicate to Logistics Manager suggested changes needed to freight vendor databases
• Source, onboard, and maintain freight vendors for existing business needs
• Work independently or in collaboration with others with determination and perseverance while exercising sound judgment with flexibility to complete work in an accurate and thorough manner
• Utilize computer and various software packages (cieTrade, Excel, Word, Outlook) to complete daily responsibilities

EXPERIENCE

• 3 to 5 years office work experience in a logistics-related industry preferred
• Strong decision making and analytical abilities
• Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills
• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow
• Has a pleasant, patient, friendly and can-do attitude
• Paper background is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

• Industrial Paper: 2 years (Preferred)

• Tuscaloosa, AL: Relocate before starting work (Required)
