A company in South Orange County is searching for an Assistant Project Manager / Drafter . The firm is in the warehouse space planning and material handling business. Initial work scope includes AutoCAD space planning and learning the warehouse business. As a small firm, everyone wears many hats (i.e. working in the warehouse pulling and shipping products when needed). Candidate will learn all aspects of the business and help participate in the success of the organization.
Employment will eventually lead to working directly with clients to implement their needs in the warehouse planning process. Candidates will prepare install information for the install crews. With experience, and training, candidates will be able to control all aspects of a project including communicating directly with customers, AutoCAD drawing to plan the space, Bill of Material development, purchasing and interfacing with suppliers, and communicating directly with install crews. The warehouse industry is not going away like many other industries. AI cannot replace warehouse racks and back-room storage.
The compensation is $24 to $26 / hour, based on experience. Interest in sales and additional incentive income is a plus, but not necessary.
Skills and Qualifications :
Knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD and Excel.
Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows
Able to lift 30-lbs
Be familiar with how to use general hand tools and power tools
Preferred Qualifications :
Effective communicator, some basic Spanish is preferred
Some project management and drafting experience
Autodesk Inventor knowledge and experience - Candidates with AutoCAD Inventor or 3D skills may be tasked with rendering drawings of products to help communicate with both suppliers and customers.
QuickBooks proficiency for order processing
The ability to drive a forklift is a plus
