What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at PrideStaff?
PrideStaff is looking for a CNC Mill / Lathe Setup Operator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Inspects parts before and after machining to insure manufacturing to specification.
Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications and provides documentation thereof.
Stamps parts produced and maintains documented trace ability to material heat and serial numbers.
Operates electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Operates forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Operates manual machine as assigned.
Performs all work in a safety conscious manner. Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
Responsible for maintaining and managing tooling, inserts, oils, coolants within assigned work area.
Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.
Responsible for cleaning equipment including disposal of chips and shavings produced during machining process.
Responsible for labeling secondary containers of cutting fluids, solvents, etc. used in work area.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Requirements :
Minimum 1 year experience operating a CNC or conventional machine in other machine shop.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
Must be able to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauge, tape measure etc. .
