Job Summary:
PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Crop Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role involves ensuring the high quality of our crop products through various tasks such as sowing, transplanting, crop maintenance, sanitation, pollinating, harvesting, evaluating, and record-keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks applicable to plant breeding, including sowing, transplanting, crop maintenance, sanitation, pollinating, harvesting, evaluating, and record-keeping.
- Explore new techniques and ideas to continually improve our processes and ultimately, our crop products.
- Maintain greenhouse plants for breeding projects, including sowing, thinning, watering, digging, fertilizer application, cleaning test dishes, and daily examination for insect and fungus problems.
- Maintain good control of greenhouse growing conditions throughout the life of the crop.
- Assist with the greenhouse pollination program for breeding projects and ensure that manipulation and pollination is done at the appropriate times and without undue injury to the plants.
- Assist with trial record keeping, data entry, and analysis.
- Maintain orderly inventory in the seed room and reorganize it as needed.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency while performing tedious tasks.
