Bilingual Secretary V plays a crucial role in supporting our team at PrideStaff. Reporting to the Program Director, this position is responsible for providing general secretarial and bookkeeping services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Acts as receptionist and answers telephone calls as assigned.
2. Employees must follow reporting requirements for Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California laws.
3. Contacts consumers' parents or consumers to confirm, cancel, or reschedule appointments.
4. Maintains electronic health records as needed.
5. Handles correspondence and distributes it to staff.
6. Obtains and verifies health insurance information for consumers.
7. Performs tasks such as copying, scanning, and faxing.
8. Carries out general office duties.
9. Demonstrates quick thinking and efficiency in emergency situations.
10. Complies with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including workplace safety, injury reporting, Infection Control, and preventing potential safety risks.
11. Drives on Agency business.
12. Performs other duties assigned by the Program Director.
Essential Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Two years of previous successful secretarial or office experience necessary.
3. Junior college education in Business Administration/Secretarial major or completion of secretarial course in an accredited business school preferred.
4. Effective communication in written and spoken English essential.
5. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish preferred.
6. Basic mathematical calculation skills required.
7. Typing speed of 55 wpm necessary.
8. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications required.
9. Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system necessary.
10. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proper insurance required.
11. Willingness to undergo background check and drug screen required.
12. Must maintain good relationships with consumers, coworkers, government representatives, and community members.
