00 / hr. to start. Work a fixed schedule, at one location, with no rain-outs, this is a career position, not just a job!!
Typical Qualifications include the following :
- 3-4 years of verifiable experience. Education from a verified vocational program, apprenticeship, or Junior College may count towards experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the tools, materials and supplies used in the trade and in their application.
- Knowledge of the care and safe usage of power tools and the occupational hazards of the trade and of the proper use of safety devices and practices.
- Ability to work from sketches or blueprints.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Ability to plan, layout and perform carpentry work of average difficulty without supervision. Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to adhere to tight schedules and still maintain work quality.
- Knowledge of framing and rough-in carpentry.
- Door and Window installation experience.
- Must read, write, and speak English well.
- Good understanding of basic math.
- Willing to learn new skills; this a multi-skill position.
- Be available for occasional overtime.
- Pass regular random drug testing; this is a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications include the following :
- 4-5 years of hands-on carpentry experience.
- Welding and metal fabrication experience (preferred, but not required).
- Working knowledge of basic residential plumbing including installation of toilets, waterlines, and showers (pans, waterproofing, backerboard, etc.).
- Vinyl flooring and tile installation.
- Drywall repairs, and paint preparation.
- All levels of trim / millwork installation including pre-finished moldings, base, and doors.
- Installation of cabinetry, cabinet hardware, custom pieces.
- Good understanding of quality control principles.
- Forklift experience.
