POSITION SUMMARY: The General Laborer will ensure we are packing and shipping the highest quality fruit in the industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties or departments may be assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Always maintain work area, tools, and equipment, in clean and food-safe conditions, by sweeping, disinfecting, mopping, etc.
- Receiving Department: Gently load 22lb buckets of fruit onto a conveyor line. Stack washed buckets or harvest containers onto pallets or into bins.
- Packaging Department: Manually direct packed boxes to appropriate lines. Apply final labels, stickers, stamps, and packaging to packed products. Ensure the product meets weight specifications and is properly sealed.
- Palletizing Department: Stacking boxes averaging 40 pounds. Strap completed pallets.
- Box Making Department: Load and unload trolley baskets with the necessary packing material, which may include boxes, tubs, and trays, of various sizes and weights.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Experience is not required for general laborer positions other than for the Box Stacking position in the Palletizing Department. For the box stacking position, proof of experience will be required.
- On-the-job training is provided.
Skills
- Ability to stand, bend, twist at the neck and waist, for work shifts that may range up to 12-15 hours depending on the time of the season
- Ability to push, pull and lift boxes upwards of 45 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to carry pallets weighing upwards of 50 lbs.
- Able to climb and descend stairs several times throughout the duration of the shift

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a typical fast-paced production environment —high industrial and agricultural equipment traffic, extreme temperatures in an environment exposed to dust, peach fuzz, and other natural elements. The employee is expected to travel to the different locations (within 50 miles radius distance from the primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes (e.g., onboarding, training, providing support to other locations as needed, etc.).
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, overtime, double-time, and holidays throughout the duration of our pack season (May to October); this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change.
