Sanitation Lead
POSITION SUMMARY: The Sanitation Lead reports to the Sanitation Manager or Supervisor and is accountable for providing support with the execution of sanitation tasks, training, and guidance of seasonal sanitation crew in their execution of sanitation tasks while monitoring their safety and adherence to Company established operating procedures and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Disassemble equipment as needed, sanitize, and reassemble packing line equipment.
· Ensure the use of approved cleaning and sanitizing chemicals for all sanitation tasks.
· Execute and document Log-out/Tag-out procedures for all fruit handling equipment prior to sanitation routines.
· Execute turn ON/OFF of all fruit handling equipment in order to execute sanitation routines.
· Follow standard operating procedures and cleaning schedules to execute sanitation tasks.
· Visually inspect the cleanliness of equipment and results of sanitation tasks to ensure effective execution and notify Food Safety Technicians of any deviations.
· Sweep, clean, and sanitize floors, walls, and drains.
· Provide guidance and monitor the sanitation crew when they execute such tasks. Report deviations to Sanitation Manager and/or Supervisor.
· Support the Sanitation Manager and/or Supervisor at the end of the shift to inspect all packinghouse areas to ensure good housekeeping and readiness for production.
· Support the Sanitation Manager and/or Supervisor in monitoring the work behavior and performance of the seasonal sanitation crew and report any deviations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
· Experience and other training or certification may be substituted for education.
· Minimum of 2-years in sanitation execution of food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing or in produce production/ packinghouse operations.
· Clean and valid CA Driver’s License.
Language
· Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a typical fast-paced production environment —high industrial and agricultural equipment traffic, extreme temperatures in an environment exposed to dust, peach fuzz, and other natural elements. The employee is expected to travel to the different locations (within 50 miles radius distance from the primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes (e.g., onboarding, training, etc.).
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, overtime, double-time, and holidays throughout the duration of our pack season (May to October); this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change.
