What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at PrimaHeart, a Medical Group?
Minimum of 3 years medical experience is preferred.
We are seeking a mature, experienced medical office receptionist/medical assistant for a part-time position. The main responsibility will be managing the front desk; handling the phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, utilizing the electronic medical records for chart prep, notes to physicians, ordering medications, as well as being the resource for the question/needs of the patients. Medical questions can be answered or referred to the medical assistant or physician.
In the role of front desk, excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple issues with patients and staff in a respectful and calm manner regardless of the urgency and stress of the situation. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure steady workflows and uninterrupted service in our medical facility.
Familiarity with an Electronic Medical Reporting system is required, preferably AthenaHealth Electronic Medical Reporting.
The practice has a Lipidologist, and Cardiologist. Knowledge of the appropriate CPT codes and regulations applicable for these specialties would be helpful.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Must be computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be able to work well independently and be detailed-oriented.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Minimum of 2 years experience.
- Excellent people and customer service skills.
- Strong background in both medical assisting and reception work.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with other staff and all physicians.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
