JOB SUMMARY
Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting, adjusting, or making changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
- Communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Operates and monitors equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
SCOPE
- No supervisory or managerial responsibility.
- Normal responsibilities associated with monitoring and reporting everyday expenses.
- Equipment and machines include but are not limited to: automated and/or semi-automated powder encapsulator, tablet press, pod, liquid filling dispenser, blenders, bulk powder filler, and mixers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Two years of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food grade manufacturing facility,
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITS
- Working knowledge of machine operations, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing.
- General knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements as well as safety and risk standards within a manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of cGMP systems for liquid and powder to secure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes.
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Generally, the work environment is that of a manufacturing plant, specifically one that manufactures food products.
- May be required to work weekends, nights, or holidays as a regular part of the job.

- Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

- frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Some travel is required.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- PPE may be required in certain areas as designated by OSHA.
- Due to safety hazards certain items as defined by OSHA may be prohibited in certain areas.
