What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Primary Care Metabolic Disorders?
Medical Assistant Job Summary: Works under the direct supervision of an NP and a licensed physician performing work related duties as required.
Responsible for various clinical and clerical functions within the medical office including:
- Maintain provider schedule, updating as necessary; answer incoming phone calls; triage or consult with provider regarding urgent phone messages.
- Prepare charts for upcoming appointments, greet patients and check the waiting area for arrivals; record BP, height and weight; update changes in medical history and medications; document patient care in EHR.
- Process orders, referrals, refills, prior authorizations initiated during visit.
- Clean, stock and maintain exam rooms.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information regarding their patients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Graduation from high school and 1-2 years experience in health care. Strong communication and telephone skills in addition to knowledge of medical terminology are essential
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. Requires manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computer, fax and telephone. Requires hearing and vision that is adequate to perform job duties.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
