Shift: Monday - Friday, Days with some variation by location
The role you'll contribute:
The Medical Assistant provides care to patients under general supervision. They follow AdventHealth service standards, greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, and assisting providers during treatment and examination.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Performs initial response-screening following protocols under the direction of the supervising physician.
- Cleans, prepares, and maintains examinations rooms and treatment areas.
- Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepares specimens for outside lab testing, as ordered by the physician.
- Checks sample medications for overstocking and date of expiration.
- Schedules patients inpatient/outpatient admissions and procedures.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must have a current, valid BLS.
- Must be certified and maintain certification by one of the following organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or National Registry of Medical Assistants (
