What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Primary Eyecare & Optical?
Primary Eyecare & Optical is excited to announce that we are growing our team!
We highly value the experience and quality of care for each of our patients. The optometric technician plays an integral part in providing this experience. The role of the technician is to provide support to the Optometrist. This includes, but is not limited to, patient work-up, pretesting and performing the appropriate professional service to patients. As the primary liaison between the patient and the doctor, the technician is responsible for communicating all patient questions and concerns to the Optometrist. Optometric experience is not required.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining pertinent medical and ocular history
- Performing testing required by the type of exam scheduled, patient complaint and history
- Insertion and Removal (I & R) training along with patient education
- Take and record visual acuity, diagnostic imaging, depth perception, pressures, color vision and pupil reflexes
- May oversee and assist with patient flow
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday
- Occasionally assisting Optometrist with procedures

Pay: Based on Experience
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm; Monday - Friday
