Estimator Planner - Metals Fabrication (Position)
PFS is seeking an experienced metals fabrication Estimator-Planner to join our organization. This individual will be responsible for providing accurate material and labor cost estimates for the production of fabricated and machined components. Work closely with the sales, engineering, and production teams ensuring projects are quoted accurately and efficiently.
Position Responsibilities:
· Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and requirements for formed, welded and machined components
· Collaborate with the sales & engineering teams to ensure that cost estimates align with intended design
· Develop, source, and price; material, labor steps & rates, testing, and services
· Use computer software to generate cost estimates for sales team with Excel & Shoptech E2 ERP
· Revise cost estimates & labor steps as needed for bid or the release to manufacture
· Complete estimates within deadline of project
· Maintain accurate and well-organized records of cost estimates and related documentation
· Learn and develop skills in using Shoptech E2
· Develop and cultivate existing and new relationships with vendors and subcontractors
· Orchestrate and maintain time estimate studies and tools used for price estimate generation
Skills & Qualifications:
· 10 years of experience in metals fabrication cost estimation, specifically Lathe, Mill, Welding, Pipe, Plate, Bar, Stainless, Carbon, Alloy Materials
· In depth knowledge and experience in traditional & advanced techniques and processes of metals fabrication
· Knowledge of metals testing and services; Anodize, Paint, PMI, Weld NDE, Pressure Test, Etc..
· A desire to learn, grow, create, innovate, and contribute to our industry leading position
· Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
· Proficiency in cost estimation software; Excel (critical) & Shoptech E2 ERP (will train)
· Effective use of CAD software helpful (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
· Excellent problem-solving skills and math skills
