Position Overview
The Director, ERP Platforms Development integrates strategic direction with operational execution on the Enterprise Resource Planning packages, add on tools, and integrations with internal and external systems. The Director leads the design, development and implementation of enterprise-level solutions with Microsoft's Business Central and Workday's Human Capital Management platforms. The Director ensures delivery of ERP technology solutions that maximize the value gained from commercial off-the-shelf software packages. S / he minimizes the customization needed to solve the company's specific business needs within the constraints of the purchased software.
The Director builds a high-performing team of analysts and developers who configure, customize where necessary, and maintain the ecosystem of packages, add-ons, maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of back-office operations. This position leads the establishment of practices, tools, and standards for high quality ERP solution delivery and operations, ensuring that they support the organization's business objectives.

ERP ecosystem availability exceeding 99.9%
ERP spend for personnel, software and hardware is within 2% of budget
ERP-specific investments exceed 15% return on invested capital
Service levels established for back-office operational processes and consistently met
ERP ecosystem meets or exceed security / compliance requirements necessary for the organization to pass audits required for publicly traded companies
A healthy staff with development and succession plans in place for all key positions, voluntary attrition for high performers below 5%
Responsibilities
Oversee the strategic direction of Business Central and Workday, maximizing value derived from the organization's investment in ERP technologies
Develop a motivated, talented workforce that has a passion for agility, technology craft and quality assurance; effectively grow talent within the organization; empower teams to make and keep commitments
Define and implement development standards, methodologies, and best practices for components within the ERP ecosystem
Architect & design solutions across Business Central and Workday, ensuring scalability, performance and resiliency
Ensure that information security is designed into platforms and operations to meet or exceed federal and state / provincial compliance requirements such as SOC2, HIPAA, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Technology, Finance, HR, and operations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of back-office processes
Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to translate business needs into working, tested solutions
Manage relationships with providers of ERP technology and labor that maximize the value the company gains from our solution partners
Qualifications / Skills
10 years of experience in ERP systems, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central or Workday Human Capital Management
Extensive experience with AL / CAL programming, C / AL, and Visual Studio Code for Business Central, and / or XSLT and Java for Workday HCM
Demonstrated experience growing technical talent, creating a culture of agility and software engineering excellence
Proven leadership experience managing ERP implementations for organizations exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue
Strong understanding of ERP concepts, business processes and system integration, and supporting Business Central / Workday architecture and development patterns
Demonstrated proficiency mitigating architecture and delivery risks for investments in the $5 - 20 million range
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required for an executive leadership role
