Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Commissions Analyst II for our client, a major player in the energy sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in data analysis and Excel while supporting a dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will dive deep into billing and commissions data, identify trends, and ensure the accuracy of critical financial information. Your problem-solving skills and ability to think critically will be key to improving processes and driving efficiency across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and validate commissions data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to manipulate large datasets, including using formulas such as VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and macros.
- Proactively identify discrepancies in data, investigate root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to support data-driven decisions.
- Monitor monthly and quarterly billing data to track changes and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Generate reports from Power BI, pulling data from tools like Revenue Manager in Telometry.
- Provide insights into billing trends, comparing current vs. prior data to highlight issues and opportunities.
- Drive continuous process improvements by identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
- Support billing operations, especially for large commercial customers, and work closely with brokers when applicable.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in retail energy or a related field, with a focus on billing or commissions.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and macros (ability to read and understand processes is key).
- Exposure to Power BI and data reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and proactively.
- Experience with large commercial customers (B2B) is preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL and Python is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with data cleaning and ensuring the accuracy of large datasets.
- Knowledge of the energy sector and the retail energy market is preferred but not required.
