Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Compensation and Benefits Specialist for our client. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced payroll professional looking to expand their expertise in a fast-paced, multi-company, and multi-state setting. In this role, you will be key in ensuring accurate payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. This role offers the chance to work alongside talented professionals in an organization that values efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll in a multi-company and multi-state setting.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS software, including tax and other relevant information.
- Verify the accuracy of employee data and prepare reports and analytics on payroll data.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Balance and reconcile quarterly and year-end reports, including Form 941 and W-2s.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
- Work closely with other departments and external auditors to maintain strong internal payroll controls.
- Provide overall support to the HR department.
- Complete special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred.
- Payroll certification preferred, but not required.
- 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll.
- Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws.
- In-depth understanding of general accounting principles and payroll best practices.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information.
