Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Confirmations Analyst - Gas & Power for our client, a renowned global energy and petrochemical group. This dynamic opportunity offers you the chance to leverage your expertise in trading systems, data reconciliation, and process improvement within a fast-paced, results-driven environment. In this role, you will contribute to the smooth and accurate processing of transactions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Verify and generate standard confirmations for transactions under master contracts, ensuring accuracy in all systems.
- Dispatch confirmations within contract deadlines and ensure counterparty and broker confirmations align with terms and conditions.
- Review and generate daily and monthly reports to ensure all confirmations and revisions are processed in a timely manner.
- Handle confirmation queries from third parties on behalf of the Commercial team.
- Maintain and update confirmation processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and support internal and external financial audits.
- Ensure confirmation data is reported accurately for regulatory purposes.
- Extract and query data from internal systems to create reports and reconcile large datasets.
- Develop and produce KPIs and tracking reports, ensuring operational transparency.
- Identify and resolve system issues in collaboration with IT, providing input for system improvements.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred with 2 or more years of professional experience in energy trading, contracts, confirmations, or financial commodities.
- Prior experience in an energy trading environment or financial accounting within the energy sector is a plus.
- Understanding of SOX and Dodd Frank regulations is an asset.
- Proficient in performing data analysis and manipulation in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills including macros, pivot tables, and SQL).
- Familiarity with ETRM trading systems (Endur, Nucleus) is a plus.
- Exposure to Power BI, Python, and Azure is desirable.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to manage large datasets, ensuring consistency and accuracy across multiple sources.
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Customer service-focused with a professional attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
