Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Electrical Engineer for our client, a leading company in the energy sector. In this role, you will leverage your experience in electrical systems design and power distribution to contribute to large-scale projects. You will have the opportunity to develop technical specifications, oversee installation processes, and ensure that all electrical equipment meets project requirements. Your technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities will be essential as you manage both design and operational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical equipment specifications for motor control centers (MCC’s), switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
- Direct the CAD department to produce engineering documentation and designs.
- Contribute to the material procurement process by preparing specifications and reviewing vendors’ quotations for technical accuracy.
- Use engineering documents as part of bid packages to ensure accurate contractor bids.
- Analyze incoming bids for completeness and pricing, selecting and approving contractors.
- Verify compliance of specifications, drawings, and vendor documentation with project requirements.
- Perform sizing and selection of electrical equipment.
- Ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing adhere to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Attend FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and perform field visits to oversee contractor progress.
- Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems in field installations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from a four-year accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering (senior-level applicants also welcome).
- Experience in low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including equipment sizing and power system design.
- Familiarity with power system studies, protective device selection, and electrical specifications for generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and UPS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of power modeling software (ETAP preferred) for power system analyses, including motor starting transients, load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety).
- Field construction experience is desirable but not required.
