Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Electrical Engineer to support a leading firm specializing in engineering and consulting services for public and private sector clients. This role provides a unique opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level electrical engineer to collaborate with an experienced team and gain valuable exposure to the complete project lifecycle within the natural gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industries.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical equipment specifications for motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and other electrical components.
- Prepare and guide CAD designers to produce comprehensive engineering documentation.
- Contribute to the material procurement process by preparing specifications and reviewing vendor quotations for technical accuracy.
- Utilize prepared engineering documents to compile bid packages, analyze contractor bids, and approve selections.
- Review electrical specifications, drawings, and vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements.
- Perform sizing and selection of electrical equipment.
- Oversee manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing to ensure compliance with functional specifications.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and conduct periodic field travel to monitor electrical contractor progress.
- Provide direction and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities in field installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited four-year institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical engineering; senior-level applicants are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including power system design and equipment sizing.
- Familiarity with single-line diagrams, power and control schematics, raceway and wiring design, and grounding systems.
- Understanding of electrical specifications for generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, soft starters, and UPS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of power modeling software (ETAP preferred) for conducting power system analyses.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety) standards.
- Field construction experience is a plus but not required.
