What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Manager position at Primary Services?
Our innovative LNG client is looking for a Direct Hire Environmental Manager in Arlington, VA (100% onsite with 10% travel required). You will lead and manage the federal and state environmental permitting process for complex LNG, pipeline, and other projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership on navigating complex permitting challenges.
- Oversee efficient management of a team handling environmental permitting tasks.
- Ensure environmental compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements.
- Identify and secure environmental permits for various project stages, including Natural Gas Act Section 3 and Section 7 projects before FERC.
- Lead the development and execution of environmental permit applications for projects requiring problem-solving, creativity, and judgment.
- Interacted with government agencies, managed field visits, and coordinated environmental inspections.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, quality control, and reporting for permitting tasks.
- Lead meetings, working groups, and individual engagements to achieve targeted regulatory outcomes.
- Collaborate with management and teams to solve significant project challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in federal and state environmental permitting within the oil and gas sector (Louisiana experience preferred).
- Strong leadership, administrative, and project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory programs for LNG terminals, pipelines, and similar projects.
