Primary Services is seeking a Lead Sourcing Specialist - Oil and Gas Procurement for our client. This role involves developing comprehensive sourcing strategies, driving cost savings, and building strong relationships with stakeholders to support the organization’s ambitious goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage your expertise to mitigate risks, optimize costs, and enhance procurement practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive category strategies aligned with stakeholder goals, incorporating market intelligence, sustainability, and total cost of ownership.
- Identify high-risk areas within categories and lead multi-functional teams to create actionable risk mitigation plans.
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives and projects to achieve organizational savings targets.
- Provide spend analytics, market research, and cost modeling to support category strategies.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the natural gas utility sector.
- Leverage industry knowledge to create cost models, identify spend leverage opportunities, and drive supplier negotiations.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices, integrating them into category and execution plans.
- Research and develop an understanding of assigned commodities and services, including specifications, production, and usage.
- Collaborate with business units to define purchase requirements and assess risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing with large, complex negotiations and proven cost reduction achievements.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to develop operational strategies.
- Experience with market dynamics and category management principles.
- Proficiency with SAP and advanced Excel skills.
