Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Procurement Manager to support a large-scale construction project in Cameron, LA. This role is a key member of the onsite execution team, managing field procurement activities and ensuring critical materials, equipment, and subcontracting needs align with project timelines and budgets. The position requires close collaboration with internal construction management, engineering, and commissioning teams to drive successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily site planning meetings to assess procurement requests and address material shortages or defects.
- Develop and distribute requests for quotes, collect proposals, and issue purchase orders in accordance with corporate procurement policies and procedures.
- Identify and source approved alternative suppliers to meet project equipment and material demands.
- Lead a team of Field Buyers in executing procurement activities and responding to urgent site needs.
- Partner with the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor and subcontractors to ensure timely material and equipment fulfillment.
- Oversee supplier performance management, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Maintain purchasing records, supplier proposals, and documentation in compliance with corporate policies.
- Manage employee performance, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, and training.
- Prepare and analyze procurement reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in construction projects involving civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement, and delivery processes in a construction setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present key details effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and Coupa procurement systems preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving assignments and priorities.
- Strong initiative, ownership of work, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work onsite daily with occasional nights and weekends as required.
- Ability to travel periodically to sites in Louisiana and supplier locations domestically and internationally.
