Description:Job Summary
The CW will provide work management system, Design Tool data entry, and general support to Designers as part of the engineering and construction planning process. Candidates are expected to have strong computer systems knowledge and the ability to work independently in the E&CP tools.
This position does not progress into the engineering technologist hierarchy. It is accountable for delivering accurate and timely work results that support safety, reliability, storm restoration, and cost management while providing quality customer service.
ResponsibilitiesDesign Tool & Work Management System SupportPerform Design Tool entry, work management system tasks, and general support for Designers.
Manage system queues and enter projects as requested using Designer field notes, templates, and/or Expert Designer.
Apply standard designs to lower-complexity corrective maintenance work, follow-up work, and other routine program work.
Assist Designers with general work order preparations, particularly for overhead and underground revenue work, major projects, and maintenance/program work.
Copy/translate sketches/notes from Designers into appropriate formats for attached construction prints in the work management system (e.g., residential, small commercial, and lighting projects).
Complete work orders that do not require a field visit or guidance from a Designer (e.g., temporary services).
Verify and complete dependencies in the work management system before releasing jobs.
Update work management system with status updates, project comments, customer comments, and contact information.
Communicate and coordinate with internal/external customers.
Perform customer calls as requested for various work management system tasks, coordinating with responsible parties regarding right-of-way, site readiness, scheduling, re-schedules, CIAC, invoices, and site delivery.
Compile, review, and print reports from the work management system as needed.
Contact customers to confirm project details and schedules (depending on Enable).
Manage communications for Designers, including scheduling customer outages, generating invoices (CIAC), and handling general customer communications.
Develop solutions for requests between Designers and Schedulers, C&M Specialists, and others as needed (e.g., phone number lookups and in-depth work management/design tool changes).
Report job status details to Designers, C&M Specialists, and/or contract construction crews as needed.
Handle customer information system inquiries and centralized group requests.
Manage requests related to centralized subdivision design.
Prepare for and provide storm support as needed.
Support Human Performance safety culture through active participation in safety meetings.
Follow ergonomics and office safety guidelines.
Support corporate initiatives.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development.
Education: Associate’s degree.
In lieu of an Associate’s degree: High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of related work experience.
1 year of related work experience (in addition to the desired degree).
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility and dependability, particularly during storm events and regular work.
Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
Proficiency in computer-based work management systems.
Knowledge of E&CP processes, work management systems, and related computer applications.
Experience using computer-based drawing tools.
