Job Title: Permitting Specialist (Contract Role)
Location: Hybrid - Chandler, AZ or Irvine, CA
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Pay Rate: $21.03-$24.03/hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: W2 Only (No C2C or Sponsorship)
We are seeking a Permitting Specialist to support the deployment of wireless infrastructure by obtaining all required entitlement approvals. The ideal candidate will ensure external customers are on-air on time and within budget, while navigating municipal regulations and collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesSubmit and acquire entitlements, approvals, and agreements from jurisdictions for facility installation in public rights-of-way and on private property.
Accurately forecast timelines and ensure completion of milestone tasks.
Review construction drawings for compliance with local jurisdiction standards.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Interface with city and municipal staff regarding applicable laws, codes, and ordinances.
Act as an escalation point for resident complaints through our Network Operations Center.
Provide permitting and zoning updates for internal and customer-facing meetings as needed.
Represent the company before planning boards and city councils during entitlement processes.
Manage third-party vendors, such as expediters, legal counsel, and inspectors.
Research and prepare permitting process analyses including costs and timelines for new project bids.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
JD or legal background preferred, but not required.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in municipal planning, land use, or the wireless industry.
Experience presenting to public/government entities is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving industry.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
Primarily office-based with hybrid flexibility.
Local and regional travel may be required.
