Power BI Data Visualization Analyst

Primary Talent Partners has a W2 contract opportunity for a Data Visualization Analyst with our great energy client.

Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder - No C2C/No Sponsorship. 

• Pay Rate: $55-$60/hr
• Location: Charlotte, NC - Local Candidates only.
  Assignment Length: 12-month W2 contract, possible extension or conversion will be based on performance, needs/budget of team, etc.

The successful candidate must:

1. Independently assess complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions with minimal guidance.
2. Be eager to learn new concepts quickly
3. Have a strong command of SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Point, Excel
4. Create efficient and effective data models in Power BI
5. Excel in clearly communicating with stakeholders and partnering with cross-functional teams to define Power BI reporting requirements to achieve strategic goals
6. Be comfortable presenting reporting and analyses with leaders
7. Have AWS Redshift, A3S experience

Summary:
The consultant is responsible for business activities for the Customer Experience & Operations Analytics Team within various *** business units as the primary interface with Information Technology and the Business in order to:

Serve as an expert in translating complex data into key strategic insights and valuable actions.

Business Intelligence Data Visualization Lead Analysts develop and test heuristics, create and run models, perform data exploration and data mining to present valuable data trends and discoveries to other data scientists, business stakeholders and managers at various levels. They create business intelligence, dashboards, visualizations, other advanced analytics reports, and presentations to adequately tell the business narrative and offer recommendations that are practiced, actionable, prioritized based on material impact, in addition to being well-supported by analytical models and data.

Responsibilities:

• As a Data Visualization developer and analyst, you will be responsible for building the Customer Service and Experience, Operations teams visual analytics using Microsoft Power BI.
• Support the rebuild of PBI reporting to support Piedmont Natural Gas (PNG) and ***’s launch of their cloud-based contact center platform (Genesys / Elevate 360)
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, plan and deliver dashboards/reports that delight users
• Create user-friendly and dynamic dashboards and reports.
• Identify trends and outliers and come up with data discovery using solutions developed.
• Identify pain points faced by stakeholders and develop the data visualization solutions that addresses their needs
• Create reports with KPIs, heat maps, scatterplots, bar charts, slicers, drill down, drill up etc. features and possess understanding of when to use them.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, colleagues, developers, and business analysts to deliver high quality value-adding analytics solutions
• Effectively present work to users and business leaders
• Install, setup, test, demo Power BI workspaces, datasets, dataflows, dashboards, reports, schedules, APIs.
• Ability to use SQL for data wrangling and effectively transform the data to be consumed into Power BI.
• Champion user trust of reporting and ad hoc information by upholding accuracy and integrity of all datasets through exploration, validation, and correction
• Contribute as a lead team member for special projects

Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or management of information systems.
• Work experience in addition to degree: 6 years
• Experience designing, developing, and testing data visualization solutions, with an emphasis on data modeling and dashboards
• 4 years of experience developing Power BI reports
• Expertise in DAX and SQL
• Command of Power App and Power Automate

Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities:

• Working knowledge of statistics, programming and predictive modeling.
• Working knowledge of code writing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to bridge the gap between data science and business management
• Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation
• Focus on data integrity and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 years of experiencing designing, developing, and testing data visualization solutions, with an emphasis on dashboards
• 4 years of experience developing Power BI reports, web service, data flows, DAX.
• Understanding of and ability to use programming languages like Python, SQL (Structured Query Language)
• Power Automate and Power App experience
• Desire to present analyses and recommendations to key stakeholders
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to relate them to the strategies, processes, products or services the company is focused on
• Data mining knowledge that spans a range of disciplines
• Strong exploratory analysis skills
• Knowledge of basic and advanced prediction models
