Structural Engineer - Transportation

( www.primeeng.com ), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 23 office locations and over 500 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast areas, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Transportation Structural Engineer in one of our 3 Kentucky offices (Ft Mitchell, Lexington, Louisville).

Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to perform structural engineering design for our diverse clientele supporting KYTC projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform horizontal structural design of various types of highway, roadway and bridge projects
• Work with the design team comprised of Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and other technical staff to develop engineered solutions for various clients.
• Utilize CAD design software such as ORD and Civil 3D for design and plan production.
• Perform field visits for ongoing design projects.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in horizontal structural engineering in a professional setting.
• Experience working with MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, KYTC, MUTCD, and ADA regulations.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• An attitude and commitment to work cooperatively with others.
