Position Overview:
The primary focus of this role will be to manage the environmental permitting process and provide oversite and inspections of the General Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Construction Activity, Maryland General Permit No. 20-CP for Maryland SHA District 2 to ensure regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research and interpret environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for environmental compliance (e.g., air, water, waste, land use).
- Ensure all permits are obtained, renewed, and maintained in accordance with deadlines.
- Develop and implement strategies to comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Maintain records and documentation for compliance audits and inspections.
- Verify SWM As-Built activities and documentation, as well as track active contracts.
- Work with internal teams (engineering, legal, operations) to ensure projects meet environmental requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate environmental impact assessments and mitigation plans.
- Address regulatory agency inquiries and resolve compliance issues.
- Educate employees on environmental permit conditions and compliance obligations.
- Develop and implement best practices to streamline the permitting process.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred or equivalent years of experience.
- 4-5 years experience with Construction projects and environmental permitting compliance like Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Salary : $25 - $35
