Prime Alert Security is a family owned security alarm company located in Signal Hill, CA that specializes in the installation, service and monitoring of security and fire alarm systems all over Los Angeles, Orange Country and the Inland Empire. We offer custom solutions with a personalized experience for both commercial and residential clients. We are currently hiring for Entry-Level and Senior-Level roles for our field technician team.

Preferred experience in an Entry-Level candidate:

An ideal Entry-Level candidate should possess some installation experience in a related field, have low voltage experience, or have education in the electrical field. Overall, we are looking for someone with a technical aptitude, attention to detail, someone who can follow through with tasks, and take initiative to accomplish projects in a timely manner. There is potential for growth within our company depending how quickly you can learn and become independent on the job. Our ideal candidate is someone that is easily trained and has the willingness to improve their skills at a rapid pace.

1. Minimum of 1 year field technician experience in the security or fire alarm industry, or related field preferred.
2. Possible transferrable skills in the following industries (willing to train the right person): HVAC, Electrical installation, Solar/Appliance installation, Low Voltage, Telecommunications.
3. Willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly.
4. Good work ethic and trainability.

Preferred experience in a Senior-Level candidate:

A qualified Senior-Level Alarm Technician should have the ability to perform service calls independently at start of hire. This candidate should have at least 3-5 years experience working with security and/or fire alarm systems. We cover a lot of ground in the security and fire life-safety industry. We would like to find someone who specializes in either fire or security. However, there is a lot of opportunity for cross-training on the job and building yourself as a strong asset to the company.

1. Minimum of 3-5 years field technician experience in the security/fire alarm industry required.

2. Must have a background in fire/security alarm system testing, service, and installation.

3. Familiar with and able to troubleshoot/install Fire System brands such as: Honeywell, System Sensor, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight.

a. NFPA/NICET Certified highly desirable (Level 1 or 2 Preferred, higher level – potential for higher pay after probation period).

4. Familiar with and able to troubleshoot/install Security Alarm System brands such as: ELK, Bosch, DSC, Caddx.

5. Experience in installation/troubleshooting CCTV and Keyless Access Control systems.

6. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ladder safety, power tools, etc.

Mandatory requirements for hire:

1. Pass a drug screening and submit fingerprinting to pass a background check.

2. Sign a confidentiality agreement.

3. Willingness to perform a computer-based personality and technical skills assessment test during application process.

4. No criminal history, and a clean driving record.

5. A clean appearance (no visible tattoos or piercings, trimmed facial hair, etc), and be willing to comply with company dress code.

6. Reliably commute to our office location in Bellflower, CA each morning.

7. Ability to comfortably climb ladders.

8. Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

9. Upon hire, must be able to provide your own basic tools to successfully perform job duties. A list of required tools will be provided.

10. Upon hire, must have ACE (Alarm Company Employee License), or be willing to obtain one.

1. Upon hire, you would enter into a 90-day probationary period. Upon completion of the 90 days, your work performance will be assessed and you will be granted a benefits package.
