We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an 80 point inspection as well as on-going repairs with the purchase of our VSC vehicle service contract and customer pay work. Job Description: Automotive Lubrication Technician
Job Summary:
The Automotive Lubrication Technician is responsible for performing maintenance services on vehicles, primarily focusing on lubrication, fluid changes, and ensuring that oil, filters, and other critical components are replaced or maintained according to service schedules. This position requires attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Be proficient based on industry standards. Additional duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oil & Fluid Changes: Perform regular oil changes, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and other vital fluid services.
- Lubrication Services: Lubricate vehicle parts, including chassis, suspension components, and other moving parts as required.
- Filter Replacement: Replace oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, and cabin filters according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct basic vehicle inspections to check for signs of potential issues, including tire pressure, lights, belts, and hoses.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service by explaining services performed, answering customer questions, and recommending additional maintenance services when necessary.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all tools and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and functioning properly.
- Inventory Management: Track and maintain necessary supplies and parts, such as oils, filters, and lubricants.
- Record Keeping: Document all services performed on customer vehicles and update service records accurately.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols to ensure safe operations and proper disposal of waste materials.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other technicians and staff members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; automotive technical training preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as an automotive lubrication technician or in a similar entry-level mechanic position is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes.
- Ability to use automotive service tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Certifications (Preferred but not required): ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in relevant areas.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Work Environment:
- Automotive service shop with exposure to oil, lubricants, and cleaning chemicals.
- May require working evenings or weekends based on business needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
