Position Summary
Prime Beverage Group is looking for a team-oriented and passionate CIP Specialist with the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies. The CIP Specialist is responsible for ensuring that sanitation of process equipment meets internal and client specifications. The CIP Specialist determines the appropriate process to use, monitors the clean in place (CIP) process, clean out of place process (COP), records process parameters and communicates the required timing of CIP cycles with the Blending and Operations teams. This position reports directly to the Chemical Manager.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure food safety is maintained by confirming that equipment is cleaned and sanitized with the appropriate process based on product matrix and defined cleaning schedule.
- Coordinate with Operations and Blending to ensure equipment cleaning occurs on defined schedule with minimal disruptions to production.
- Participate, monitor, and manage overall plant hygiene (COP) activities.
- Measure and record relevant process parameters regarding CIP times, water usage, chemical concentrations.
- Coordinate with QC Technicians to inspect equipment before and after cleaning.
- Maintain inventory of CIP chemicals, chemical at point of use, consumables, and test strips.
- Adhere to safety regulations.
- Comply with good manufacturing practices.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities.
- Ability to operate a PLC and use software such as Excel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instruments, operate machines and titrate chemicals.
Education and Experience
- 4-6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with similar functions.
- Knowledge of chemistry/sanitation
- HAACP/Food Safety training a plus.
