Overview
Prime Beverage Group is looking for a team-oriented and passionate Quality Supervisor with the ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies. The Quality Supervisor maintains the laboratory and leads the shift’s quality team, including the laboratory technicians and quality technicians, and is responsible for ensuring food safety and quality protocols are followed on their shift. This role also supports and enforces the certification, regulatory, customer, and brand requirements as outlined by the business and implements continuous improvement projects to meet these requirements. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure food safety is maintained by confirming that pasteurization processes and preservative levels are within specification.
- Maintain instruments and ensure calibrations are being performed on specified schedules.
- Supervise, lead, and motivate a team of Quality Control Technicians and Lab Technicians to deliver results by communicating company goals, including quality and customer satisfaction, safety practices, and deadlines.
- Maintain the process of laboratory data on instruments, monitor the data for accuracy through exceptional reporting, analyze the data, recognize out of spec measurements, and makes process improvement recommendations.
- Train and validate the skills of the Quality Control Technicians and Lab Technicians.
- Monitor the par levels of consumables and order as needed.
- Assist in the assessment and disposition of non-compliant raw materials and finished goods.
- Ensure quality measurements are performed on time and that results are in specification. Ensure the correct materials and lot codes are used for each customer’s specification.
- Drive adherence to safety regulations.
- Comply with good manufacturing practices.
- Support and assist in audits from internal and external for certification.
- Other task as assigned by the Quality Manager and Director.
Position Requirements
- Strong understanding of analytical chemical techniques and methods.
- Manufacturing experience and Food Industry knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needs
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities.
- Strong proofreading and written communication skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walking manufacturing floor; climbing stairs, and able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or similar, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment with similar functions (prefer 4-6 years).
- HAACP/Food Safety training a plus.
