Role Overview

The Shipping Operator (Material Handler) is responsible for preparing and processing orders for shipment. This role involves accurately picking, packing, and labeling products, operating material handling equipment including forklifts, and verifying the quality and quantity of outgoing shipments. You will also manage shipping paperwork, organize the shipping yard, and ensure all activities adhere to safety guidelines, supporting smooth operations at our Woodland, CA facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare orders for shipment by accurately picking, packing, and labeling products.
• Operate material handling/ shipping equipment, forklifts etc.
• Verify quantities and quality of outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Ability to load and unload trucks as required.
• Collaborate with warehouse team and supervisors to prioritize shipping dept activities.
• Organize and maintain shipping yard by product/bin location.
• Assist in the handling of shipping-related paperwork, such as bills of lading.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures within shipping/plant area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a shipping or warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Familiarity with operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
