Job Summary:
The Construction Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting functions of construction projects. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of construction accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties, including managing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, and reviewing the general ledger to ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Manage invoicing with vendors and ensure timely collection of payments from clients.
- Work closely with project managers to track project costs, revenues, and profitability, providing financial insights and guidance.
- Oversee all financial reporting, including but not limited to quarterly financials, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Provide accurate and timely financial information to the leadership team to support decision-making.
- Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts, ensuring the company maintains a healthy financial position.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation and submission of year-end financials for tax filings, working with the external tax advisor as necessary.
- ·Assist in strategic financial planning and support the company’s long-term goals, including growth initiatives and potential financing needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting (percentage of completion, job costing, WIP reports, etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks & NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
