About the Role
The Precast Plant Manager will oversee and coordinate the operations of a precast manufacturing facility to ensure the achievement of company goals. This includes managing production, personnel, quality standards, safety, and budget requirements, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Plan, schedule, and direct production activities, ensuring efficient use of personnel, materials, and equipment to meet quality standards, delivery schedules, and budget goals.
- Establish performance standards, analyze workflow, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Monitor operations to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead routine plant production meetings and quality control meetings.
Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain the company’s safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA, quality control plans, governmental, and company-specific safety requirements.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and ensure active participation from the department.
- Conduct accident investigations and prepare monthly plant inspection reports.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the production of precast products consistently meets or exceeds architectural specifications, as well as PCI, NPCA, and ACPA standards.
- Supervise the fabrication of forms, mix designs, sample preparation, and the construction and finishing of precast products.
Operational Analysis:
- Collect and analyze data to monitor productivity, set performance targets, and optimize operations.
- Develop systems to track and improve productivity, standards, and overall performance.
Business Performance & Improvement:
- Manage operations to achieve profitability, quality, safety, and schedule commitments.
- Implement continuous improvement programs, leveraging Lean principles to enhance performance and maintain a competitive advantage.
Collaboration with Business Development:
- Assist the Business Development team with project scope reviews and estimation of plant-related costs.
- Coordinate with the Production & Quality departments to ensure they are informed of project requirements.
Personnel Management:
- Oversee plant personnel, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions. Ensure compliance with company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Promote teamwork and foster a positive work environment.
Financial Oversight:
- Review monthly financial reports and address any significant variances with key stakeholders.
- Regularly review and analyze the P&L statement to ensure that manufacturing costs, such as raw materials, labor, overhead, and production costs, are within budget and aligned with production goals.
- Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiencies to improve profit margins.
- Ensure that revenue from product sales meets or exceeds targets and adjust strategies as necessary to address any variances.
- Attend monthly business review meetings to assess progress toward plant goals and objectives.
- Participate in annual business planning activities.
Team Leadership:
- Lead production and quality teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Conduct daily production meetings to review schedules, address concerns, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide direction and clear focus to staff in alignment with strategic initiatives.
Employee Development:
- Serve as a role model for employees, demonstrating punctuality, loyalty, mutual respect, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Assess key employee performance to determine qualified promotion candidates.
- Conduct disciplinary reviews and actions necessary to ensure day-to-day operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Required:
- BA/BS in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing plant operations, including setting and achieving goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and profitability.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in team development.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in precast concrete or building materials is a plus.
- A successful track record in promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Familiarity with Reinforced Concrete Pipe Production and Box Culvert Production.
- Experience in Titan Precast Management System software is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in relevant software and operational technology (MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, Afinitas forms and equipment, and others).

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
