Packing and Shipping Associate

POSITION SUMMARY :-

• The shipping associate is primarily responsible for the inspection and packaging of finished product.
• Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the shipping area.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

• Packaging of finished product to work order prior to shipping to customer.
• Inspect and verify all finished product, parts/ materials and do necessary paperwork.
• Utilize Packing materials to securely package large products to ensure their safe transport without damage.
• Prepare all required paperwork and utilize shipping company websites to ensure proper shipment of products.
• Inspect all shipping tools for damage/wear prior to use.
• Monitor raw material inventory, keeping it organized and identified.
• Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are used.
• Monitor equipment and request maintenance where required.
• Perform simple maintenance and repairs as required.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:-

• Will be required to cross train as back-up in other areas.
• Required to have accurate time entry into the attendance system.
• Other job related activities may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

WORK RELATIONSHIPS AND SCOPE:-

• Report directly to the department lead
• Daily interaction with operations and operators.

• Safety, quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability and thoroughness of work performed.
• Gains trust of supervisors, co-workers and other employees.
• Develop working knowledge of the production environment.
• Work to continuously improve operations of the department through lean activities and improvement suggestions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
