Responsibilities

St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC) is looking for a full time, day shiftOperating Room/Surgical Techwho is empathetic and has good communication skills. We have a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes, opportunities for professional growth and so much more.
Our OR/Surg Tech duties include but are not limited to:
- responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
- maintaining sterile field during case
- providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures
- able to work well under stressful and emergency situations
- able to act quickly and accurately
- some assistance in sterile processing may be necessary
- either 4 10's or 5 8's shift
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- graduation from an ORT training program within 6 months of hire or on the job training with a minimum of 2 years experience in a surgical setting, preferred
- current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e. General, Ortho, Urology and GI)
