Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide total care to an individual in home. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and feeding.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social and recreational activities.
- Monitor and document residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate staff.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by maintaining hygiene standards within the living space.
- Uphold resident rights by fostering an atmosphere of respect and dignity.
- Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to direct support and caregiving.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, group home settings, or memory care is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocacy for those in your care.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting or transferring individuals as needed.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to provide continuous support.
