Copy of Homemaker/In-Home Care Assistant

Prime Home Health and Companion Care is seeking compassionate Homemakers to provide compassionate and supportive care to individuals in their own homes. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care practices and demonstrate empathy and patience while working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with autism or dementia.

Client Location: Belchertown, MA (potential for additional shifts with clients in nearby areas)

Shift Details: 1 day/week for 3 hours. Day and time is flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed to ensure the health and safety of clients.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
• Assist with home community care tasks, including light housekeeping and medication reminders.
• Support individuals with autism through tailored activities that promote engagement and social interaction.
• Offer specialized care for seniors, including dementia care strategies to maintain cognitive function.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in providing patient care with a focus on compassion and respect.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques.
• Experience in home community care settings.
• Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Understanding of the specific needs related to working with people on the autism spectrum.
• Ability to provide senior care, including familiarity with dementia care practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Direct support experience is preferred to enhance client independence and well-being.
