Staff Accountant
Prime Materials Recovery, Inc. in East Hartford, CT is seeking a driven and dedicated Staff Accountant that is will support the Plant Controller and contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain and update the general ledger by posting daily financial transactions (including accounts receivable and payable)
· Maintain account balances and bank reconciliations
· Support the Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing
· Assist with annual audit reporting
· Assist with preparation of prepare regulatory filings and returns
· Facilitate various ad hoc accounting projects, including budgets and forecasts
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and controls.
Requirements
Experience Requirements:
· Proven 2-3 years of accounting experience, with in-depth knowledge in the following:
· General ledger, chart of accounts, debits, and credits
· Accounts payable
· Accounts receivable
· Accruals for assets and liabilities
· Basic to intermediate understanding of cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Prior inventory management experience is a plus but not required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent bookkeeping certification)
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
· Proficient in Excel, Word, Accounting Software.
· Proven 2-3 years of accounting experience, with in-depth knowledge in the following:
· Intermediate understanding of cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Microsoft Office Suite
· Microsoft Excel, with advanced knowledge in data arrays, pivot tables, and lookup formulas
· Accounting and bookkeeping software experience.
· Strong familiarity with ERP systems (Netsuite Preferred)
· Inventory management experience is required.
