Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision and care.
- Collect, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Maintain aseptic technique during all specimen collection procedures to prevent contamination.
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after blood collection to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Record vital signs as necessary and provide patient education regarding the procedure.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and accurate test results.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and laboratory guidelines in accordance with regulatory standards.
Experience
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques related to phlebotomy. Experience in specimen collection processing is preferred, along with knowledge of physiology relevant to blood sampling. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective patient care, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with vital signs monitoring is an advantage.
