Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Prime Physicians, PLLC. This individual will provide assistance to Specialty Clinic Providers and the healthcare team during clinic hours and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and experience working in a clinical setting. As a Surgical Technician, you will play an integral role in planning, preparing, and implementing clinic procedures while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with surgical specialty clinic procedures, including biopsies, wound grafts, catheter changes, and post-residual void scans.
- Set up and maintain sterile fields, ensuring proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Prepare, organize, and manage procedure setups while anticipating provider needs during procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs, assist with positioning and prepping, and obtain necessary supplies.
- Handle and label specimens accurately, place orders, and transport them to the lab per protocol.
- Follow infection control policies, universal precautions, and VA compliance guidelines.
- Enter surgery orders, assist with scheduling, and communicate surgical timelines with patients.
- Ensure preoperative testing is completed, documented, and reviewed before the surgery date.
