Job Title : Histology Technician Location : Augusta, ME 04330 Duration : 1 Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract) Start Date : April 2025 Shift Schedule : 8 : 00 AM 4 : 30 PM (Monday through Friday) Qualification : Certifications : Histotechnician Experience : Minimum of 2-years' experience Responsibilities : Receive, label, and process tissue samples from surgeries, biopsies, and autopsies. Embed specimens in paraffin wax, cut thin sections using a microtome, and mount them on slides. Perform routine (H&E) and special stains to highlight tissue structures and abnormalities. Ensure high-quality slide preparation for pathologists' review. Operate and maintain lab equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines. Follow laboratory protocols, safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures. Document procedures, maintain logs, and enter data into the laboratory information system (LIS).
