Job Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in histology and cytology, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, and cover-slipping of tissue specimens.
- Assist in cutting surgical, frozen sections, and possibly autopsies as required.
- Operate and maintain equipment, instruments, and specialized techniques to process specimens.
- Prepare special stains as requested by pathologists for diagnostic purposes.
- Support the team as a back-up morgue assistant in the absence of the contract diener.
