Qualification
- Education: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an e American Dental Association ADA or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- License: Active, unrestricted dental license in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Territory
- Certifications: BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of dental experience, including at least 12 months in the specialty required
- Perform oral and radiographic examinations to diagnose dental conditions and develop treatment plans
- Provide restorative treatments for cavities and other dental conditions using prescribed materials
- Administer local anesthesia and prescribe medications as per treatment guidelines
- Conduct oral surgical procedures, including simple and surgical extractions
- Perform endodontic procedures, including routine root canal therapy
- Carry out periodontal treatments, such as scaling and root planing
- Educate patients on preventive care, oral hygiene, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation and update patient records in the EMR system (EHR/RPMS)
- Participate in quality assurance programs, patient satisfaction surveys, and peer reviews
- Attend mandatory facility orientation and adhere to IHS policies and HIPAA regulations
