Job Overview:
As a Chemical Engineer specializing in mathematical modeling, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced models to simulate chemical processes. You will use your expertise in chemical engineering modeling to create and optimize algorithms that enhance our understanding and control of these processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mathematical models to simulate chemical processes and reactions under emergency relief conditions.
- Use programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C ) to create and optimize algorithms for process simulation and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling and simulation results into practical engineering solutions.
- Analyze experimental data to validate models and refine predictions.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis and optimization studies to improve process performance.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in chemical engineering, modeling techniques, and programming methodologies.
- Ability to work in a reactive chemical laboratory to obtain data for engineering calculation
- Ability to travel to a client site to analyze processes and obtain data for project.
Qualifications:
- Master or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Computational Science, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of the principle of thermodynamic phase equilibrium.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mathematical modeling within the chemical engineering domain.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C , or similar.
- Strong background in applied mathematics and numerical methods.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, gPROMS) is a plus.
- Experience with runaway reactions, adiabatic testing devices such as vent sizing package (VSPII), relief device sizing, and dynamic simulation of relief system is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
